Financial Health Centre launch cakeThis September, Limehouse Project have joined 9 partner organisations to be part of a new Financial Health Centre (FHC). The new centre will be open Monday to Friday and offering a range of free, confidential and independent advice on debt, welfare benefits, housing, money management and much more.

The Financial Health Centre, located in Stepney E1 4EB, was officially launched Monday 17th September by Mayor John Biggs and Councillor Sirajul Islam.

“The changes to the welfare system, in particular the introduction of universal Credit, have hit Tower Hamlets residents hard and caused a degree of confusion.  I am pleased that thanks to the financial health centre we are able to provide clear and accurate advice to our residents.

I’d encourage anyone in Tower Hamlets with concerns about their finances to get in touch and access the advice available from organisations across the borough.”

-Tower Hamlets Mayor John Biggs

The launch event was attended by Limehouse Project and other advice agencies as well as local residents.

“The provision of the space by Tower Hamlets Homes and the willingness of local agencies to support this underlines the commitment to improve and support the local community. It’s a much needed provision in the area and will service a real need for the people in E1 and surrounding areas.”

-Frank Dixon, Deputy Director, Limehouse Project
