Mapping out your future

As a key provider of both accredited and non-accredited education and training programmes across Tower Hamlets, we offer a range of courses ranging from basic level English as a Secondary or Other Language (ESOL) classes to vocational childcare qualifications and Employment support. Training & Learning

Skills for Life/Capacity Building: designed to enable local residents with little or no qualifications to begin learning again while building on their confidence and enhancing motivation.

Accredited CACHE or NVQ in Childcare: qualifications from Foundation level through to advanced levels for those interested in developing a potential career in childcare. Please call to add your name to the waiting list for the next CACHE Level 2 course in either Early Years or Teaching Assistant.

English (ESOL), Literacy & Numeracy Skills Development Programme: an introductory course for anyone aged 16+ who wishes to develop these skills before moving on to other programmes / courses. We are currently delivering Functional Skills in Maths in July 2018.

Extended Schools Programme: an English language (ESOL) programme for parents wanting to boost their confidence with English speaking and comprehension. This is delivered throughout schools across Tower Hamlets.

Basic IT training: Basic ICT sessions to boost your job searching skills and become more digitally inclusive

Healthy Living: a mixture of class orientated lectures and fun practical cooking sessions and exercise sessions for both individuals and families to help raise awareness of unhealthy practices and inspire new ways of healthier living.

Women Empowerment Programme: A positive platform for women to serve as role models for the younger generations equipping them with the confidence, information and tools to share knowledge and positively debate with vulnerable young people.

Employment Support

As the current economic downturn continues to impact our local communities, businesses and economic welfare structures, we know just how tough it can be to find not only a job, but a job that you really want to do.

That’s why our qualified and experienced Training and Development Team work together with a number of local employment partners and services to offer you work experience and volunteer placements alongside paid working positions. With a special focus on long-term unemployed peoples and those who have never had a job, we aim to help ease the transition into work whilst ensuring you have the skills necessary to become financially responsible in the event of employment (i.e. such has handling incoming budgets with outgoing payments, creating savings accounts and in work benefits etc.).

Working with hundreds of people each year, our Employment Training programmes offer the following services:

  • Practical Assessments to identify individual needs and requirements
  • Careers advice
  • Personalised action planning
  • Help with CV writing
  • Guidance with application forms
  • Developing interview skills and techniques
  • Motivation, support and encouragement
  • Employment brokers to help you find relevant work to match your expectations.
  • Employer liaison programmes to enable you to build relationships with local employers and help you back into the workplace.

As part of our commitment to client, we continue to support clients to develop further while in work, offering career development advice and support and access to further vocational training courses.
