Our client, a single and vulnerable older woman, had fallen into significant Council Tax arrears after her son and his family moved out of the property. Feeling overwhelmed by enforcement letters and final notices, she reached out to Limehouse Project Advice Service for help, extremely stressed and anxious about her situation.
Our advisor, Ruhela Akhtar, worked closely with her to contact the relevant organisations and departments, helping to set up affordable payment plans. During the process, we also discovered that part of the arrears had already been recovered, meaning she only had a small balance left to pay. This outcome brought immense relief to our client, and she shared how supported and cared for she felt throughout the process of getting advice and support from Limehouse Project Advice Service.

Testimonial from client
I am an elderly person living on my own who speaks very little English and has no IT skills. Before coming to Limehouse Project, I was extremely stressed and anxious about my benefits and debt issues. The support I received from Ruhela Akhtar over the last few weeks has been so helpful and reassuring. I don’t know what I would have done without her help. I feel so relieved and happy with the service.
